The eligibility criteria and streams for the PNP program vary from one province or territory to another. Some streams are synchronized with the federal Express Entry system, which streamlines the immigration process for skilled workers.

Under the Provincial Nominee Program Category, an agreement between the provinces, territories, and the federal government enables them to nominate immigrants and their families based on the province's immigration requirements and the applicants' intent to settle there.
